NEOM has announced the development of a new residential golf community named Gidori in the Gulf of Aqaba, Saudi Arabia, which has been designed by Aedas.
“As human beings, we want to be part of something that is bigger than our lives; we want to belong. It’s all about the community—how do we bring people together? Gidori is the ultimate experience of community living, offering a series of spaces that facilitate points of connection between humans and nature. When we started to design Gidori, we wanted a structure that emanates from the land, inspired by the beautiful outcrops and overhangs found in nature. The idea was to design something that one could go underneath to create a communal space.” said Ignacio Gomez, Global Design Principal of Aedas.
The complex is located on the beachfront and features a stunning cantilevered structure. It comprises 190 luxury sea-view apartments accompanied by various dining options, retail stores, and garden spaces, which contain a golf course and other outdoor sports spaces. The speca will accommodate 200 people. In addition, visitors to Gidori can also choose to stay in the 80-room boutique hotel, which offers a range of rooms and suites. The hotel features restaurants and lounges, a wellness spa, a gym, multiple swimming pools, and a theatre for curated entertainment.
“The special thing about Gidori is definitely the monolith, a majestic monument that emerges from the ground. Inside the canopy of the monolith, you can see these beautiful hanging apartments; it is almost as if gravity doesn’t exist,” said Lama Al-Kharboush of Aedas.
Earlier, NEOM announced the names Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, Aquellum, Zardun, Xaynor, and Elanan.
