To an artist, the expression of the land, sea and air exudes a fascinating vision of elements to be inspired from. Dragon Palace, a structural play of bamboo and wood lightly woven in white rope, imbues a mesmerising take on marine wildlife anatomy visualized and moulded by the artist Cheng-Tsung Feng.

The beauty of the abundant aquatic environment of Taiwan blends various marine biological characteristics to construct and weave the ‘Dragon Palace’ pavilion with awe. The structure sits lightly within the sightseeing fishing port of Chiayi, a prosperous city in Taiwan, and it assists and encourages an open-hearted welcome pitch and resting space for travellers.

The pavilion by Cheng Tsung Feng has an intriguing framework, evidently influenced by the ergonomic shapes and organic silhouettes of the local marine wildlife. The framing of bamboo sculptural mechanics echoes a ritual-like concept in mind. After the sunset, the Dragon Palace pavilion awakens with a warm luminance, matching a breathing rate, just like a monster that wakes up in the nocturnal.

The curvaceous arrangement, resembling the body of a dragon, weaves a breathtaking, ever-changing advent of curiosity. The mysterious ‘Dragon Palace’ installation invites the islanders to observe, approach, explore, and immerse themselves into the thrilling spectacle of an oceanic fairytale world.
