Tune in to Episode 05 of the PA Talks series with Chris Prechtan award-winning architect and co-founder of Studio Precht on ‘Reconnecting Nature and Architecture’, interviewed by Hamid Hassanzadeh.

Studio Precht is an architecture bureau in the mountains of Austria, where Chris and his wife Suger Fei grow their food. However, from this remote location, they work on global projects to reconnect nature and architecture. Precht also co-founded the architecture and design studio, Penda, in 2013 after winning a small competition in China. In 2017, Fei and Chris moved their studio to Austria to live and work in the mountains of Salzburg.

Studio Precht is a young office that takes pride to be part of a new generation of architects, that speaks up with a fresh voice. They believe this voice is important for all the challenges of our time. As young architects, they have the necessary naivety to work on projects that they are truly passionate about. For them, it’s not about what is profitable, but what is possible. They are a diverse team from all over the globe where they envision to inspire each other. A cross-cultural approach and the desire to learn are driving their design process.

One of the best examples of his work is the FarmHouse. Studio Precht‘s FarmHouse concept with triangular modular homes brings the process of growing our food back to the center of our cities. Architecture Studio Precht has developed a concept for modular housing where residents produce their own food in vertical farms. Architects Fei and Chris Precht developed The Farmhouse as a way to reconnect people in cities with agriculture and help them live in a more sustainable way.

Precht designed The Farmhouse as populations around the world are increasingly becoming city dwellers who have lost touch with how their food is produced, while food transportation has an increasingly damaging effect on the environment.
