Singapore, 29 April 2026: FORMAS.AI, an AI-native creative and design workspace built for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, has raised US$3.98 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India.
Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India led the funding round alongside UntroD Capital, Hustle Fund, Big Sky Capital, Orvel Ventures, and several prominent angel investors from the global technology and AEC sectors.
The round also saw participation from notable angel investors, including Jeffrey Tiong, founder of an enterprise SaaS unicorn and Co-founder of Patsnap; the founding team of Zopim (acquired by Zendesk); Antonio Rami, Co-founder of Kantox (acquired by BNP Paribas); and Bradley Tabone, Co-founder of Hammertech, a leading construction technology platform.

The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate team expansion, strengthen product development, and scale global go-to-market efforts, with the United States and Europe identified as primary focus markets, while Asia and Latin America continue to emerge as high-growth regions.
Since its public beta launch in November 2025, FORMAS.AI has seen strong global traction, with users generating more than 500,000 designs across 135 countries, driven entirely by organic inbound demand.
Transforming Design Workflows with AI
Commenting on the milestone, Yiping Goh, Co-founder and CEO of FORMAS.AI, said, “The AEC industry is one of the largest and most under-digitized sectors in the world. The current design-tech stack comes with steep technical learning curves. We want to reinterpret what a truly great design platform looks like when built AI-native, not simply bolted onto legacy tools, and the global demand we’re seeing confirms that architects and designers are ready for that.”
Professor Carlos Bañón, Co-founder and Chief Product & AI Officer of FORMAS.AI, added, “For decades, architects have adapted their creativity to fit the constraints of their tools. FORMAS.AI flips that relationship. We’re building a workspace where AI amplifies the designer’s intent and does not replace it with generic outputs.”

Jessica Koh, Senior Executive Director, Investment at Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, also shared her perspective: “As AI evolves from fragmented point solutions into integrated platforms, FORMAS.AI is strongly positioned within this emerging category, combining orchestration, fine-tuning, and proprietary tools to power design workflows at scale. We’re excited to partner with the team on this journey.”
While the AEC sector has traditionally been slower in adopting new technologies, recent advancements in AI, particularly in spatial understanding, image generation, and multimodal reasoning, are opening new possibilities for how architects and designers create and collaborate.
Today, most creative workflows remain fragmented across multiple disconnected platforms. While AI has significantly accelerated rendering and visualization, the larger opportunity lies in fundamentally rethinking how designers work. With the global AEC software market projected to reach US$13–15 billion by 2030, firms are increasingly turning toward AI-driven design automation across the entire project lifecycle.
