Snøhetta-designed extension for the world’s oldest ski museum

Čoarvemátta was created by Snøhetta, 70°N Arkitektur, Econor, and Joar Nango for the Sámi National Theater, Sámi High School, and Reindeer Husbandry School.
Snøhetta designed a 36-story mixed-use tower, which is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in 2027.
This year, as part of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023, the European Social Place (ECC) revealed its sixth installment of the wide plan display titled “Time Space Existence.”
Outside the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin, 12 three-story-tall fan-like pillars form a canopy that shades an enormous outdoor community space. The shade structure, Moody Patio, is the centerpiece of a Snhetta-led rehabilitation project reviving the museum’s grounds.
JAJA Architects’ proposal won the invited competition. All four proposals for the metro competition are on display in Copenhagen’s City Hall until 12 December.
The Visitor Center for Arctic Preservation Storage designed by Snøhetta consists of two opposite masses in form, texture, and color and a glass bridge connecting these masses.

Slicing up in curvaceous curves! Knubben, the iconic and venerable harbour bath of the 1930s, was redesigned and re-invoked by Snøhetta in an eclectic expression. To honour the 300th anniversary of the once ‘Arendal Swimming Club’ in 2023, the facility enshrines a salubrious twist inspired by its original architectural drawings.
