Salone del Mobile.Milano has officially announced the framework for its 64th edition, taking place from 21 to 26 April 2026 at Fiera Milano Rho. The event will feature more than 1,900 exhibitors from over 30 countries and occupy more than 169,000 m² of exhibition space, affirming its status as a leading global platform for furniture and design.
At the core of this renewed framework is Salone Contract, a new multi-year initiative dedicated to the contract furnishing sector, including hospitality, workplace, retail, infrastructure, and other large-scale design challenges.
OMA Masterplan for Salone del Mobile 2026

The masterplan for Salone Contract has been entrusted to OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture), under the leadership of Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten, positioning architectural research and strategic design thinking as central to the evolution of contract design within the fair’s program.
In the 2026 edition, the Salone Contract project will unfold in phases during the exhibition. Planned activities include:

A thematic itinerary across the fairgrounds that highlights contract-oriented exhibitors and their offerings, giving visitors a structured view of sector trends and relationships between products, systems, and spaces.
A public lecture by Rem Koolhaas, presenting OMA’s initial research and conceptual approach to contract design as a strategic typology in contemporary markets.
An international forum co-developed with OMA, bringing together global practitioners, thought leaders, and industry professionals for dialogue and debate on contract sector dynamics.

These components will form the conceptual groundwork for the first full Salone Contract exhibition in 2027, during which the project is set to debut as a structured and selective showcase.
Salone del Mobile positions this initiative as a response to the growing complexity of the contract furnishing market, where value increasingly derives from integrated systems, services, logistics, and data, not solely from individual products.

The OMA masterplan for Salone Contract reframes contract furnishing at the fair as a strategic, research-driven, long-term program, emphasizing architectural thinking, industrial strategy, and global market conditions.
