Foster + Partners has unveiled the design of a new spiral-shaped tower for The Star LLC, a Los Angeles-based real estate development firm. The tower will be situated on a two-acre plot on Sunset Boulevard and aims to create a “vertical creative office” campus in Hollywood, targeting the top content creators of the area.

The Star Tower features spiraling gardens that ascend from street level to the top. With its distinguished and unexpected appearance, the tower will be an iconic landmark in the area. The renderings exhibit white floorplates wrapped in glass curtain walls that transform into terraces covered in plants. The terraces will also have space for multiple seating areas and lead into interior workspaces through floor-to-ceiling glass doors.

The design offers spacious floors, outdoor areas, and large windows that will allow unobstructed 360-degree views of Los Angeles. The use of large windows and floor terraces encourages natural light and ventilation, while also defining spaces that help people work more efficiently and effectively. The tower will have a walkable setting that engages the street, featuring an expansive LED video screen, an arched paseo of restaurants, community gathering spaces, a theater, and a gallery.

“This is a true reflection of the workplace of the future, nurturing community, wellbeing and collaboration with green social terraces spiraling through the building that will encourage and enliven the city’s incredible creative industries”

“We have worked with leaders in the creative and tech industries to redefine The Star into a project that fits perfectly into Hollywood’s urban fabric and captures the evolving workplace,” said Maggie Miracle, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of The Star LLC. “The office space seamlessly moves from indoor to outdoor settings with extraordinary collaborative areas and tasteful settings that allow for contemplation and innovation.”

The project is included in a proposal presented to the city by The Star LLC, the developer of the building. If it is approved, construction is slated to begin in 2026, as indicated by the team. The anticipated finish date is 2029.
