Z6 Tower, designed by Foster + Partners, is located at the center of Beijing’s Central Business District. It is becoming China’s first high-rise office building to be awarded ‘Net Zero Carbon Outstanding’ certification.

“We are delighted that our Z6 tower is the first high-rise office building to achieve ‘Net Zero Carbon Outstanding’ certification in China. Architecture and environmental engineering were integrated from the earliest stages of the design process, creating an extremely sustainable scheme that will act as a benchmark for healthy low-carbon buildings across the country.” said Luke Fox, Head of Studio, Foster + Partners.

Design Features and Functionality

Z6 Tower is becoming China's first high-rise office building to be awarded ‘Net Zero Carbon Outstanding’ certification.

The 33-storey Z6 Tower will be located in Beijing’s CBD and will feature six atriums overlooking a central park. It will be the first multi-tenant speculative office building with a collaborative focus and will prioritize greenery, natural ventilation, and daylight. The atriums will be used for events, fostering innovation and community. The office spaces will have flexible floorplates and promote well-being with natural ventilation.

“We are bringing the experience of the park into the building with a series of vertical internal gardens that offer a range of active spaces with native tree species to enhance health and productivity,” said Pearl Tang, Senior Partner at Foster + Partners.
