Jinan Chanfa Capital Group is coming up with a Hydrogen Park in Cuizhai, Jinan designed by a Germany-based design firm Beta Realities. The industrial project is focused on harnessing the power of hydrogen with a circular, holistic and environmentally conscious framework of spatial planning.
The masterplan is inspired by the fluid and energetic nature of hydrogen, designed in a radial layout with its central core that connects the network of spaces organising the site into distinct functional hubs, and creating an effective campus.
This central spine extends outward and divides the property into discrete functional hubs devoted to different facets of hydrogen generation. These focal points are then interwoven with lush green spaces at the campus that create a vibrant setup for both visitors and employees, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and contributing to the integration of clean energy into Jinan City’s daily life.
Green public zoning and integrated safety barriers also guarantee excellent visibility and distinct demarcation across the radial grid, combining to create a safe and hospitable atmosphere. The project resonates with the low-carbon eco-city development initiatives taken by the Chinese government which has also been implemented in Jinan.
The Hydrogen Park campus has a modular design concept, which makes it simple to expand while preserving a dynamic visual identity based upon natural and ecological material choices, complementing Beta Realities’ emphasis on future technologies.
Beta Realities is a spatial innovation studio who have previously worked on affordable housing and various urban development projects, with their primary focus on co-creation and the democratisation of design.
For Cuizhai Hydrogen Park, the focus is on the transition from green to blue energy, reviving the planet’s oldest energy source within a fully circular hydrogen hub while also creating spaces that are environmentally and socially responsible.
