New Orleans and New York-based Trahan Architects has revealed the design of the USA Pavilion that will be featured in Expo 2025 Osaka. The visitors will be able to join in a lively and dynamic experience, that includes panoramic views of the country, as well as exhibitions that delve into themes such as sustainability, space exploration, education, and entrepreneurship.

“As architects, our mission is to bring people together in spaces that cultivate a greater sense of place and strengthen appreciation for our planet. The USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 offers a rare opportunity to explore these critical issues and engage in a global conversation on the future of our environment and our cities,” stated Trahan Architects.

“The USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka will be an embodiment of American spirit, celebrating innovation, openness, and global cultural exchange. With two expansive wings designed to inspire visitors to the Expo and invite them inside, the USA Pavilion will encourage curiosity, exploration, and offer opportunities to learn about all the United States has to offer.” said Rahm Emanuel, U.S. Ambassador to Japan.

The US Pavilion stands as a translucent cube, appears weightless in its simplicity, and serves as an anchor for the plaza, bridging the two wings of the building. As visitors enter the “canyon,” they will see the panoramas of the country, juxtaposed with the mirrored surface of the cube overhead.

The Project Team for the pavilion includes Trey Trahan, Kevin Thomas, Brian Richter, Ciarán Conlon, Tim Tamulonis, and Jason Kurzweil. Collaborators are ES Global Solutions, Alchemy, BRC Imagination Arts, Tripod, Hood Design Studio, Studio Loutsis, and Dot Dash.
