Design and Aesthetic

DOMO designed and robotically fabricated an eye-catching deep blue pavilion for its debut at ARCH Moscow, which also earned a prestigious jury award. The pavilion features a rich blue hue and a dynamic, unconventional shape that seamlessly integrates stone relief with flowing wave-like forms.

Inside, the pavilion hosts a dedicated discussion area designed for seminars and interactions with subject matter experts, providing a versatile space for intellectual exchange and engagement.

Concept and Symbolism

The pavilion is a reflection of how individuals shape the society we live in today by building their own futures. Structures that are today considered symbols of advancement can later collapse or vanish completely. According to its designers, this project serves as a reminder that the world requires a mindful design that will not eventually crumble into stone. It serves as a reminder that we have the power to genuinely and permanently improve the lives of future generations through our deeds today.

The pavilion’s design also alludes to metamorphism, the alteration of rocks due to outside forces. Rocks are turned into precious stone, like marble, by these methods. This reflects the internal workings of the bureau: the team’s ability to work together to develop high-quality architecture and comfortable living spaces for citizens nowadays is a result of their professional synergy.
