Julia Koerner applied her knowledge of digital design and 3D printing to Ruth E. Carter’s costume design, which was nominated for an Oscar for the second time.
Following the international success of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,” Ruth E. Carter and Julia Koerner teamed up once more for 3D printed costumes for Marvel Studio.
With her band JK3D, Julia Koerner features organic patterns and high-tech 3D printing using sustainable plant-based materials.
Inspired by tiny butterfly wings, Setae is a 3D printed fashion design project investigating digital setae pattern creation and multi-color 3D printing on cloth.
