The highly anticipated stadium, Miami Freedom Park, is expected to open by the start of the 2026 MSL season, which is a delay from its original opening in 2025. This Inter Miami’s 25,000-seater football arena is estimated to contribute $40 million in annual tax revenue to the city of Miami.

The park will feature a 58-acre public park, commercial retail and entertainment space, offices, and hotel accommodations. It will create around 15,000 direct and indirect jobs and transform the local community.

Since 2020, Inter Miami CF has been playing at a temporary facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Governor Ron DeSantis recently announced an $8 million state grant towards infrastructural development considering the stadium’s location near Miami airport.

CEO of Inter Miami CF Jorge Mas shared his vision and excitement for the new venue stating, “With Inter Miami my family set out to build something truly transformational. In just four years we have changed the perception worldwide of American soccer. As we commence construction of Miami Freedom Park that same vision guides us.

“In creating a multifaceted space, we will set a new standard of what sport complexes can be. We look forward to delivering a food and entertainment destination for families to enjoy year-round. I can’t wait to welcome our fans to our state-of-the-art stadium and hear the chants as Messi and your Inter Miami players take the pitch for the first time in 2025.”

This state-of-the-art stadium proposal is designed by Arquitectonica, stadium design firm Manica and CAA Icon. The delay in the opening of the stadium has caused mixed reactions as it is still unsure if the football sensation Lionel Messi will play in this new stadium as his contract ends by 2025. Expected to play a significant role in the football scene, this stadium will be pivotal during the 2026 World Cup, which the United States will co-host.
