Melike Altınışık Architects (MAA) has unveiled the design for Swissôtel & Raffle Residences Sea Breeze, a new hospitality and residential development located within the Sea Breeze resort city on the Caspian coast in Baku, Azerbaijan. Construction began in June 2025, with the project officially entering its main construction phase in September of that year.
Designed as a contemporary mixed-use development, the 13-storey project will house 150 hotel rooms and 458 branded residences. Swissôtel & Raffle Residences Sea Breeze brings together premium hospitality and long-term coastal living, supported by a comprehensive lifestyle program. Residents and guests will have direct access to a private beach, along with signature restaurants, boutiques, and a range of curated amenities.
The architectural design reflects MAA’s ongoing exploration of the relationship between nature, technology, and human experience. The building’s façade draws inspiration from the movement of waves and the wings of Sea Breeze, translating the dynamics of wind and water into a refined architectural form. Layered surfaces, fluid geometries, and vertical elements create a rhythmic façade that shifts with light and viewing angles, giving the project a distinct presence along the Caspian shoreline.
Large glazed openings and carefully balanced proportions maximize natural daylight and panoramic sea views. Landscape integration and active public interfaces strengthen the connection between the building, the promenade, and the waterfront, contributing to a strong relationship between architecture and its coastal setting. The result is a calm and timeless silhouette that aligns with Sea Breeze’s vision as a year-round destination for living, leisure, and international hospitality.
Swissôtel Sea Breeze reflects Swissôtel’s global identity of comfort, elegance, and well-being, reinterpreted through MAA’s contemporary design approach. Together, the architectural vision and hospitality concept establish a refined coastal environment where design, service, and everyday life come together, setting a new benchmark for seaside living in Baku.
