Introduction to Fusing Realities:
In this cutting-edge workshop, we will delve into the intersection of architecture, artificial intelligence, and immersive design. Leveraging state-of-the-art AI tools, This workshop will teach participants how to transform traditional 3D models into dynamic visual and interactive narratives.
This workshop is designed to empower architects, designers, and creators with the ability to craft compelling visual stories that redefine architectural communication and conceptualization.
The selected software tools, including MidJourney, Dream Machine AI by Luma, and Luma AI 3D Capture, among others, have been chosen for their groundbreaking capabilities in AI-driven creativity, immersive design, and interactive storytelling. Together, these tools provide a holistic ecosystem for pushing the boundaries of architectural visualization.
The Scope of Fusing Realities:
This workshop will focus on creating futuristic architectural designs and narratives. Participants will explore typologies such as:
- Urban interventions
- Conceptual pavilions
- Immersive spatial environments
“Fusing Realities” workshop will teach participants how to develop parametric and generative designs through tools like Grasshopper and Rhinoceros. AI tools like Luma AI and Hyperhuman Rodan will be used for dynamic visualization, video generation, and immersive content creation.
Participants will produce unique, multidimensional architectural representations by combining traditional and innovative software.
- Session 1: Interactive presentations and guided hands-on activities to introduce tools and
techniques. - Session 2: Collaborative or individual projects focusing on integrating workflows to
create a final presentation.
Program:
Day 1: Foundations and Experimentation
- Introduction to Tools: Overview of MidJourney, Dream Machine AI by Luma, Genie, Luma AI tools, Grasshopper, and Rhinoceros.
- Hands-On Exercises:
- Parametric modeling in Grasshopper.
- AI-driven concept creation with MidJourney and Genie.
- Capturing 3D environments with Luma AI 3D Capture.
- Q&A and Troubleshooting: Personalized guidance and problem-solving.
Day 2: Integration and Presentation
- Workflow Integration: Combining 3D models with immersive video creation tools (Luma AI Generator Videos, Hyperhuman Rodan)
- Adding finishing touches with Meshy and KREA.
- Project Development: Participants will create a final project integrating learned workflows.
- Final Presentation: Students will present their architectural narratives in video and
- interactive formats.
- Q&A
Software & Plugins:
- MidJourney
- Dream Machine AI by Luma
- Luma AI 3D Capture
- Luma AI Generator Videos
- Meshy

Workshop Notes:
- Please ensure you have all the software installed before the workshop starts. Software installation is NOT a part of the workshop.
Instructor:
Arturo Del Razo Montiel
Arturo del Razo Montiel is an architect and architectural designer specializing in parametric design and the integration of artificial intelligence. As the founder of “Artu_Nreal,” his design studio focuses on conceptualizing parametric projects, experimenting with cutting-edge technologies, and merging art with architecture. He holds a Master of Design in Sustainability Architecture from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Landscape Design from BUAP (Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) in Mexico.2010 Arturo won the prestigious Contest del “Museo del Vino” in Chile. More recently, he completed a series of innovative visual and 3D art mapping projects for artists, with the latest exhibition set to take place at the Museo Internacional del Barroco, designed by the acclaimed architect Toyo Ito.
Currently, he is a faculty member in the Architecture Department at IBERO Puebla, where he teaches parametric architecture. His students have also created innovative projects that blend parametric modeling with AI.Arturo has led workshops at various institutions, including the University of Manchester, La Sapienza in Rome, and Istanbul Bilgi University. At SMAC (3D Printing School), he conducted a workshop on integrating AI and 3D printing and facilitated another titled AI Architectural Workflows for Creation Thrill. In March, he participated in AI Day at the University of Manchester, exploring the intersections of AI, architecture, and design innovation. His academic contributions include co-authoring the article “Sustainable Design and Generative AI” for SIGRADI in collaboration with Angelo Figliola, a professor at La Sapienza University who focuses on the intersection of parametric architecture and sustainability.
He has also published several other publications on integrating AI into architectural practice. Recognized by AI Architects Magazine as one of the leading architects in artificial intelligence, he has also worked as a conceptual artist with AWA Studios, which is known for its contributions to the comic industry. Arturo’s speaking engagements include conferences at the International Interior Design Forum at Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez and “Más Allá de lo Construido” at Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, as well as events across Mexico, Manchester, and Italy. He has judged AI competitions and contributed to the “Constructing Futures” exhibit for the Detroit Month of Design.
