1. The Top SKY / Burj Khalifa

Location: Dubai, UAE

Standing at 828 meters, the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa, was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Inspired by the abstract form of the Hymenocallis flower and organized around a central core with three wings, the tower stands as a testament to human ambition and creativity. The Burj Khalifa boasts two observation decks offering visitors breathtaking views of Dubai. Located on the 124th and 125th floors, At The Top EMAAR offers 360-degree views of the city and desert through its floor-to-ceiling glass walls.

On the 148th floor, At The Top SKY, at a height of 555 meters, is one of the highest observation decks in the world. Spanning the 152nd, 153rd, and 154th floors, The Lounge is the world’s highest lounge and offers visitors the opportunity to experience new heights within the Burj Khalifa.

2. Canton Tower

Location: Guangzhou, China

One of Guangzhou’s most iconic landmarks, the Canton Tower, at 600 meters tall, is China’s tallest observation tower. A symbol of Guangzhou’s modern development with its slender “waist” design, the tower offers multiple observation decks and entertainment facilities, combining sightseeing, high-altitude leisure, dining, and cultural experiences in one place.

The Canton Tower’s Open Air Observation Deck, located at 488 meters, offers some of the best views of the city. The Cloud Observation Deck and the Star Observation Deck offer two different themes: the blue sky and white clouds at 428 meters, and the starry night sky at 433.2 meters. The Glass Walkway, made of transparent double-layered glass, offers visitors the opportunity to view the city below. Encircling the top level at 433 meters, the “Bubble Tram” is a plexiglass capsule ride and the world’s highest horizontal Ferris wheel.

The “Sky Drop,” the world’s highest vertical free-fall attraction, reaches speeds of up to 80 km/h, dropping from 485 meters to 455 meters and offering an adrenaline-filled experience for thrill seekers.

3. Top of Shanghai Observatory / Shanghai Tower

Location: Shanghai, China

Standing at 632 meters, the Shanghai Tower holds the title of China’s tallest building and features some of the world’s most impressive observation decks. Located on the 118th floor at a height of 546 meters, the “Top of Shanghai Observatory” offers visitors a panoramic view of the city’s vast skyline and the Huangpu River. Due to its spacious glass facade, this observation deck provides visitors with particularly stunning panoramic views of Shanghai illuminated by lights, especially at sunset and at night.  

The world’s fastest elevator transports visitors to the world’s highest indoor observation deck in just seconds. On the 125th and 126th floors, the SKY632 Interactive Lighting Technologies Show combines multimedia images, music, lighting, projection, and lasers with multi-dimensional artistic expression.

4. Tembo Deck- Tembo Galleria / Tokyo Skytree

Location: Tokyo, Japan

The 634-meter-high Tokyo Skytree, a Tokyo landmark, is a television and broadcasting tower. Housing two of Japan’s highest observation decks, it offers visitors the opportunity to view the city’s vast urban landscape from above. Located 350 meters up, the Tembo Deck features large glass panels and offers spectacular views of Tokyo. This impressive observation deck, from which even Mount Fuji can be seen on clear days, includes a café, shops, and a restaurant. 

The Tembo Galleria, at 450 meters, features a spiral-shaped glass and steel ramp that encloses the building. This upper deck creates the sensation of walking in the sky, guiding visitors to the highest accessible point of the structure. Both decks offer breathtaking, unobstructed views across much of the Kanto region.

5. The View from The Shard / Shard

Location: London, UK

Rising 310 meters above London’s skyline, The Shard dominates the city with its pyramid-like form, appearing as a giant shard of glass piercing the sky. Designed by Renzo Piano, this tower combines architectural elegance with one of the world’s most remarkable observation experiences, offering sweeping views of the city.

Located on the 68th, 69th, and 72nd floors at the top of The Shard, “The View from The Shard” is almost twice as high as all other observation platforms in the city. Offering visitors unparalleled 360-degree views stretching 64 kilometers, this observation deck also provides a different perspective of London’s iconic buildings when viewed from above. In addition to its indoor observation levels, The Shard features an open-air terrace where landmarks such as Tower Bridge and the London Eye can be seen. Exceptionally high-speed elevators transport visitors from the 1st to the 68th floor in seconds.

6. Skydeck / Willis Tower

Location: Chicago, Illinois, US

An iconic part of Chicago’s skyline, the 527-meter Willis Tower is home to one of the world’s most famous observation decks. Located on the 103rd floor at a height of 412 meters, the “Skydeck” offers visitors spectacular views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. The glass balconies extending outwards from the building’s facade, known as “The Ledge,” were designed inspired by the facial prints left by visitors trying to capture the best view from the Willis Tower’s windows. The Ledge, which offers the thrill of standing on 3.8 cm-thick glass, gives the feeling of floating in the air.

7. SUMMIT One Vanderbilt / One Vanderbilt

Location: New York, US

Located at the top of the 427-meter One Vanderbilt, “SUMMIT One Vanderbilt” redefines the traditional observation deck by combining architecture, art installations, and sweeping city views. From this observation deck, visitors can see iconic landmarks such as the Empire State Building and Central Park. The “Levitation” experience features transparent glass sky boxes extending beyond the edge of the building, giving guests the sensation of floating above the city. 

A completely glass elevator transports viewers from the terrace level to the side of the building, 364 meters high, making it “the highest vantage point in Midtown Manhattan.” The mirrored artwork Air, designed by artist Kenzo Digital, further enhances the sensory experience.

8. Mirador Torre Glories / Glories Tower

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Designed by Jean Nouvel, the 144-meter Torre Glòries was conceived as a form inspired by a geyser rising into the air. Located in the upper sections of the tower, the “Mirador Torre Glories” is one of the world’s most impressive observation decks. Situated at approximately 125 meters high, this viewpoint offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Barcelona, ​​providing views of iconic landmarks such as the Sagrada Familia and the Mediterranean coastline. Encouraging visitors to reinterpret the city from a new perspective, Mirador Torre Glòries blends technology and environmental awareness, inviting reflection on the urban landscape.

At the base of the tower, “Hipermirador” features multidisciplinary art installations that present real-time data about the city, allowing visitors to perceive Barcelona as a living organism. State-of-the-art elevators take people to the deck, where the outer cylinder, made of perforated concrete, transforms into a dome of steel and glass, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. Inside, a complex structure of ropes and panels rises like a gigantic, walkable spiderweb. Tomas Saraceno’s installation “Cloud Cities Barcelona” further reinforces the idea of encountering the sky, clouds, and infinity.

9. Grand Canyon Skywalk

Location: Arizona, US

Designed by MRJ Architects, the Grand Canyon Skywalk is a viewing platform considered one of the world’s most impressive glass bridges. A 3-meter-wide, horseshoe-shaped glass bridge stretches 21 meters above the edge of the Grand Canyon, offering breathtaking views 1200 meters below to the canyon floor. With its fully transparent glass floor, the Skywalk provides a clear view of the Colorado River below and the canyon’s rock walls, making it a point of attraction where modern engineering merges with natural heritage. The steel and glass observation deck’s glass bridge can withstand an earthquake of magnitude 8.0 and winds up to 100 miles per hour.

10. Eiffel Tower

Location: Paris, France

The iconic Eiffel Tower, one of the world’s most visited towers, was originally built by Gustave Eiffel as the entrance to the 1889 World’s Fair. Standing at 324 meters, it remains the tallest structure in Paris and features three levels open to visitors. The first floor, at 57 meters, features an interactive exhibition area with a glass floor, as well as a presentation about the tower’s history and construction. The second floor, at 115 meters, offers even more breathtaking views and houses the Le Jules Verne restaurant.

After a striking ascent via glass-walled elevators, visitors reach the summit at 276 meters, where a panoramic observation deck offers views extending up to 70 kilometers on a clear day. At this level, guests can also see Gustave Eiffel’s carefully restored private office, preserved as part of the tower’s heritage.
