Foster + Partners unveiled its first residential development project in Uruguay. The project includes 8 residential units and a circular glass-walled courtyard. David Summerfield, Head of Studio, Foster + Partners, said: “We are delighted to see the practice’s first project in Uruguay coming to fruition. Our design seeks to offer the highest quality living experience by perfectly balancing views, light, and green space.”

Juan Frigerio, Partner, Foster + Partners, said, “The cast glass courtyard is at the heart of the design, bringing daylight and greenery directly into the building and creating a unique experience for residents. Its sculptural quality underlines the project’s contemporary elegance.”

The building includes eight residential units, including two duplex apartments situated on the eastern and western peripheries and a rooftop garden. Every apartment has cross-ventilation and dual aspects, ensuring a comfortable living space. The walls of the courtyard are constructed from textured cast glass, which filters natural light into the living spaces while providing privacy for the residents.

On the basement level of the building, there is a pool, sauna, and gym connected to a courtyard and shared garden by stairs. The building’s facade is made of white concrete that reflects the pale tones of Carrasco’s sandy beachfront. The terraces highlight the building’s low-rise structure and provide private spaces to enjoy the views.
