The seafront of Larnaca, a city on the south coast of Cyprus, is getting a transformative upgrade in collaboration with Petrolina Group and the renowned British architectural firm Foster + Partners. The ‘Land of Tomorrow’ project aims to be a sustainable initiative to activate the seaside promenade, creating more opportunities for residents in the north of the city.
To enhance the blue economy and preserve the city’s industrial heritage, this seafront masterplan for Larnaca focuses on ecological enhancements, designing the area to be pedestrian-friendly along with eateries and cafes to attract more tourists and create a vibrant public space. This two-kilometre stretch will create new habitats for wildlife and add greenery to the coastline enhancing the city’s character.
“The masterplan retains and enhances the city’s character while creating an exciting new vision for its future. Our approach has been developed in close consultation with the city authorities, building on the municipality’s key initiatives which promote sustainable and holistic urban growth.”

The project’s initial phase includes developing the waterfront with a residential complex spanning over 32000 sqm and multiple amenities like a sauna, pools, gym, etc.
Mr. Vadim Romanov, CEO and Founding Partner of BBF (Cyprus-based residential and commercial development company), shared that “This is an exciting project that inspires and motivates us immensely. It is a big challenge, but our joint vision is to transform the former industrial zone as you known it to date into one of the most attractive beachfront communities in the Mediterranean. We are fully confident that this sustainable and progressive development will have a positive impact on the surrounding area, the economy, and on the evolution of our country for years to come.”
The construction is scheduled to begin in the latter half of 2025, with the masterplan currently in the design stage, and is expected to be completed in around 2.5 years.
