Thomas Heatherwick’s book Humanise: A Maker’s Guide to Building Our World is a comprehensive exploration of how architecture and design can be transformed to better serve humanity. Published in October 2023, it is both a critique and a manifesto, challenging the prevalence of “soulless” buildings that negatively impact people’s well-being and the environment.
In “Humanise,” Heatherwick draws on his extensive experience and diverse projects, integrating neuroscience and cognitive psychology insights to advocate for a more empathetic approach to architecture.
