Safdie Architects has unveiled plans for the upcoming Mandarin Oriental Residences in West Palm Beach. Designed as a luxurious residential waterfront landmark set to open in 2031, marking it as the firm’s first standalone residential project in South Florida. The development is situated along the shoreline of West Palm Beach as a serene yet refined retreat. The project was created in collaboration with Great Gulf and the globally renowned Mandarin Oriental brand, promising its residents an elevated living luxury experience shaped by thoughtful design, sweeping waterfront views, and a deep sense of place.

The architecture embodies a vision of creating exceptional residential environments that thoughtfully integrate refined architecture, comfort, and a strong sense of place. Safdie Architects, supported by a distinguished design team of multiple creative disciplines, designed the project. Studio Munge leads the interior design, while ENEA Landscape Architecture shapes the surrounding landscape. The design collaboration creates a dialogue between architecture, interiors, and nature, forming carefully curated living spaces that respond to the evolving lifestyles and expectations of Mandarin Oriental’s global community.

Rising 31 stories above the shoreline, the Residences comprise an exclusive collection of two- to four-bedroom homes, with two expansive multi-level private villas and a spectacular full-floor penthouse. Each residence is designed with private elevator access and generous wraparound balconies that frame sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Beyond homes, residents will experience an elevated lifestyle with curated amenities, from rooftop lounges with a pool and private cabanas to a tranquil spa and fitness center, resulting in a refined waterfront retreat.

At the ground level of the residences, the waterfront retreat unfolds as a resort-style pool, bar, cabanas, and sun loungers, all set within a private beach-inspired landscape. The project also offers vibrant amenities, from pickleball courts to a garden lounge and thoughtfully designed social spaces that encourage connection and leisure. In design collaboration with Mandarin Oriental, the architecture is infused with the brand’s signature hospitality and meticulous attention to detail, delivering experiences that elevate everyday living with the comfort and refinement of a world-class resort.

“We remain deeply committed to expanding our presence in North America across both our hotels and branded residences, responding to what our global community of customers is asking of us,” said Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental.
