In Rajasthan, where architecture has long been shaped by forts, palaces, and symbolic ornament, contemporary design finds a new expression through computation and metal. At the Miraj Cricket Stadium, India’s first international cricket stadium integrated with a luxury hotel, Metaguise introduces a parametric facade that functions as both infrastructure and cultural narrative.
Rather than treating the elevation as a static enclosure, the facade is conceived as a responsive architectural skin. It changes with light, movement, and viewing distance, allowing the building to register time, scale, and motion while retaining a strong visual identity rooted in place.
The real hero of this facade? MetaCoin™—Metaguise’s signature parametric facade technology. Thousands of circular aluminum coins are mounted across hundreds of metal panels, each digitally mapped and positioned through parametric software and custom algorithms. Acting like pixels on a metallic canvas, variations in size, density, and orientation generate gradients of light, depth, and rhythm across the elevation.
From afar, the surface reads as a continuous shimmering field. As one moves closer, the logic of the system becomes legible as an intricate constellation of precisely engineered elements. Embedded within this field are large-scale shapes inspired by iconic moments from Indian sport in the 21st century. These images rely on memory instead of literal depiction, inviting recognition while allowing space for personal interpretation. The facade, in this sense, celebrates sport not just as spectacle, but as shared cultural memory.
The parametric logic allows the building to respond dynamically to movement. As spectators approach, the surface appears to ripple; as vehicles pass, reflections animate the elevation. The facade becomes part of the arrival experience, reinforcing the kinetic qualities associated with sport motion, rhythm, and anticipation. By day, it responds to the changing sun; by night, it transforms under artificial illumination, extending the stadium’s presence beyond the event itself.
Beneath the metallic layer, metal louvers in a wood finish introduce airflow, visual rhythm, and a contrasting material warmth. This layered approach continues into the integrated five-star hotel, where another custom Metaguise system, MetaCryst™, is used as an under-ceiling treatment. Composed of geometric panels, MetaCryst™ manipulates light and shadow to create a crystalline texture, offering a softer, atmospheric transition from the stadium’s energy to the hotel’s refined interior experience.
The elevation, from concept to completion, has been executed entirely by Metaguise. From early design sketches and mathematical scripting to fabrication and on-site installation, every stage was handled in-house. This turnkey approach ensures precision, continuity, and fidelity to the original design intent, resulting in a facade that balances performance, craft, and long-term identity.
Together, the stadium and hotel form a contemporary landmark for Rajasthan, where parametric design is not used as visual excess but as a tool to translate movement, memory, and culture into built form at an urban scale.
