Imagine riding a motorbike that doesn’t just roar down the road but lifts off, hovers above the ground, and cuts through the air like a scene out of Star Wars. That’s exactly the experience promised by the Volonaut Airbike.

Polish inventor Tomasz Patan, known for the Jetson ONE eVTOL, has unveiled the Volonaut Airbike, a single-seat, jet-powered hoverbike capable of reaching speeds up to 200 km/h (124 mph).

Volonaut

Described by many as the closest thing to a real-life speeder bike, the Volonaut Airbike is not a concept. It’s a working prototype, capable of lifting off and flying over terrain. While most airborne personal vehicles use exposed rotors or wings, the Airbike features a sleek, minimalist design with no visible propellers or wings, giving it a futuristic silhouette and making it ideal for maneuvering through tighter spaces.

Its lightweight frame, constructed from advanced carbon fiber materials and 3D-printed components, contributes to its agility and performance.

A proprietary stabilization system, enhanced by a flight computer, allows for automatic hovering and ease of control. The open-air setup provides the rider with an unobstructed 360-degree view, enhancing the sensation of flight.

While the Airbike’s design and capabilities have generated excitement, details about its propulsion system remain limited. The absence of external rotors allows for maneuverability in confined spaces, but specifics about the jet propulsion technology have not been disclosed.

As of now, there is no official word on the commercial availability or pricing of the Volonaut Airbike. But the fact that the Airbike has already been tested in flight shows the momentum building behind personal air mobility.
