Air and Space Museum in Beijing, namely DreamEast Future World is an aerospace theme park offering an aeronautical experience. The museum is designed by Hetzel Design in 2011 – 2013, with a significant distinction between DreamEast Future World and other aerospace museums and science and technology pavilions which is the project’s design, that places a strong focus on the visitor experience.

Apart from the science-popularization display, the project has included fascinating interactive features that allow visitors to get a deeper understanding of aerospace and future technologies via more engaging experiences, really bringing “edutainment” to life. DreamEast Future World is not only a second classroom for children and adolescents’ development and learning, as well as a launch pad for them to encounter and practice aerospace ideas, but it is also an aerospace theme park for the whole family to enjoy.

Situated in Beijing’s adjacent Hebei District, in the center of Futura City, it is close to Central Park yet apart from its numerous attractions. The apparent answer was to create a footbridge to connect the two; the idea was to combine the building and the bridge into a single transitional form, thereby converting the bridge component into yet another gallery.

Beginning with rudimentary designs to determine the footprint in the given area, which developed into the creation of a continuous structure that wraps around itself, inside, the huge central foyer includes a pair of escalators that take visitors on a voyage of discovery and space into the main LED sphere. The exhibit may then be explored at their leisure by strolling down cantilevered ramps. The LED sphere serves as an ambient lighting sculpture on the outside and a big immersive projection environment on the inside.
