High in the Rockies, Dspace Studio’s Colorado Retreat presents a contemporary mountain home designed for both adventure and restoration. Conceived as a tranquil yet bold basecamp, the residence supports year-round living, adapting equally to social gatherings and quiet weekends.

With ski-in/ski-out access, integrated outdoor spaces, and sustainable systems, the home creates a strong connection between architecture and the surrounding landscape.

Stacked Volumes Reflect the Rocky Mountains

The Colorado retreat is formed by three horizontal volumes that shift in plan, drawing inspiration from the layered strata of the Rockies. This arrangement creates terraces, sheltered outdoor areas, and carefully framed panoramic views.

A cantilevered upper volume mirrors the geological movement of the terrain, while a monolithic chimney provides a strong vertical element that anchors the structure to the site.

A Compact Footprint Embedded in the Landscape

Designed to preserve the existing topography and native vegetation, the residence occupies a compact footprint. Limestone and Accoya wood cladding introduce warmth while reflecting the colors and textures of the surrounding environment.

Outdoor kitchens, terraced pathways, and living spaces extend the home into the landscape, strengthening its connection to the mountain setting.

Interiors Designed for Gathering and Restoration

Inside, expansive communal spaces are balanced with intimate areas for relaxation and retreat. Natural light fills the interiors, highlighting Italian craftsmanship and wellness-focused design. Each level connects directly to outdoor spaces, allowing the mountain landscape to become an extension of the home.

A family lounge leads to a private spa featuring a pool, sauna, and gym, creating an environment where architecture and nature support everyday well-being.
