Rate this pavilion from 1-10?Trabeculae Pavilion is a lightweight architecture that fuses advancements in Additive Manufacturing with bio-inspired computational design.

Designed by @actlab.milano in 2018, the project looks into 3D Printing for answers to the emerging problem of scarcity in material resources. The design is based on a computational process that finds inspiration in Nature, specifically in the materialization logics of the trabeculae, the internal cells that form the bone microstructure.

From this investigation, custom algorithms have been developed to support the creation of a cellular load-responsive structure with continuous variations in sizing, topology, orientation and section, in order to maximize material efficiency.

GAD‘s original designs for a hotel project in Cappadocia have been featured in a set of new designs created by GAD’s visualisation team.

Interior design by GAD for the project in Turkey’s Cappadocia created a synthesis of contemporary design and the ancient Christian and cave dwellings of the region. Traditional but stylish interiors of stone architecture emphasizing space and light highlighted the new vision GAD is bringing to tourism in Cappadocia and Turkey.

Rate this view from 1-10? Captivating shot by Netherlands based architectural photographer, @vasilmann, from @daniellibeskind ‘s Congress Centre of The City of Mons.

Studio Libeskind completed this innovative convention center in time for the advent of cultural and diplomatic activities in 2015, when this small medieval town transformed into the European Capital of Culture.

The Congres Centre’s cladding is open in a manner that gives texture and light to the bearing structure—ribbon concrete walls that ascend in a spiral. The lower walls are clad with vertical slats of unfinished robinia wood that echo the trees in a neighboring park. The upper are clad with vertical bands of anodized aluminum that follow the curve of the wall.

Rate the design from 1-10? Fjordenhus is a castle like office building in #Vejle #Denmark, designed by Studio Olafur Eliasson and Sebastian Behmann | 2018.

Accessible by footbridge, the twenty-eight-metre-high building is formed by four intersecting cylinders with brick facades from which ellipsoidal negative spaces were removed to create complex curved forms and arched windows.

The varying floor plans of the different levels are organized around circles and ellipses, with specially designed furniture and lights, and are connected by spiral staircases and round vestibules. By night, Fjordenhus is lit from within, resembling a lighthouse.

Rate this installation from 1-10?! The PAUSE, designed by Iranian practice, @AshariArchitects, is a dancing suspended brick volume inside a cube showcasing the potential use of brick material by creating distinct atmospheres.

PAUSE is the childish adventure feeling and inspiration that we have not experienced since the childhood. PAUSE tries to revive the feelings that we have been ignoring. Feeling of brick texture tactile; hearing the sound of our steps on the metal sheets, looking at the sky which we pass under of it every single day without any attention to it, not even trying to pause to enjoy it.

Listening to the “water features at the site," PAUSE from the outside is a cube that holds a suspended brick volume. This is adequate enough to incite the adventure and curiosity senses. By passing the brick wall entrance, we reach a dark closed space which can’t hear anything except the sound of metal sheets under our steps. We continue our journey by touching the brick textures.

Rate this wall from 1-10?! A mile long parametric

Rate this wall from 1-10?! A mile long parametric wall, designed by London based architecture studio Softroom, links 6 lounges for Turkish Airlines inside Istanbul Airport. A ribbon-like ‘Flow Wall’ that controlled by grasshopper scripting, offers a dynamic and fluid experience to the passengers with varying curves and light stips. The design is finalized through an algorithm based process, that grants divergent outcomes to test within a range of parameters.

Architects describe the undulating wall as an "intuitive route that transcends barriers of language and culture" as it runs throughout 19,000 square metres of lounge space. The design is visible upon entrance to the airport and it guides the visitors from the counters through the lounges and to the retail spaces.
