NFT Meshing with nature

NFT Meshing with nature in Milan Design Week, RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC 2022 is a digital installation by Pininfarina Architecture, known for its ability to blend beauty and technology, highlighting the technology, and aesthetic design of the Smart House Saluzzo 43, a smart residential building project in Milan. Together with Icona Architetti Associati, Pininfarina has been commissioned by Red Group and Torchio & Daghero to create an installation dedicated to the next Smart House building that will rise in Milan, next to the future Olympic Village and the Prada Foundation.

As part of an urban regeneration plan that will affect Milan for the next 20 years, the NFT Meshing with nature installation replicates in digital form a residential real estate project that will contribute to the redevelopment of the Scalo di Porta Romana, one of Italy’s and Europe’s largest land development projects in terms of both size and scale. The innovative idea developed by Red Group, an American real estate development company, and Torchio & Daghero, an equity partner and general contractor, is Smart House, which has Planet Smart City, a company that specializes in affordable smart housing around the world. Combining aesthetics with technology and design, in Turin, Smart House Saluzzo 43 represents not only the first smart residential building in the city but also the most sustainable, thanks to partners such as Planet Smart City, the Competence Center of Planet Smart City, a prop-tech company whose mission is to create smart cities.

This is the first Italian outpost of Pininfarina Architecture’s smart house idea, which aspires to create an open and sustainable structure that bridges the gap between the city and the countryside. For example, the facades and external projects that connect to an urban region to the north and a rural natural zone that is remarkably untouched to the south and inside municipal bonds are the obvious influence of this interplay. Because of its complexity and distinctiveness in the local setting, Smart House was designed in collaboration with Federica Poggio and Marco Orto’s Milan-based architectural and design office, Icona Architetti. Over the years, owing to a rigorous and humane approach to the project, the studio has acquired a strong reputation in the residential sector, with references of different types and complexity in Italy and abroad.

The NFT performance accompanied by environmental protection, looped on a large LED screen mounted on the wall and highlighted the interplay (a play on words between “harmonization” and “mesh”) between the city’s anthropic presence and the powerful green expanse to the outside, reminding us that working on circularity is possible through careful life-cycle design and construction.
